Trekking in Nepal

Trekking in Nepal is one of the most popular trekking tourism activities in the region. Nepal boasts some of the most spectacular, exciting and breathtaking (literally!) routes for trekking on this planet. Home to a majority of the highest mountains in the world, Nepal is known as the world’s best trekking destination. Trekking is one of the best ways to experience the natural beauty, diverse cultural heritages and diverse climatic regions of this country. Trekking in Nepal is not just hiking in the mountains; it is a fantastic way to experience our country’s diverse religions, cultures, languages, ethnicities and scenery. Moonlight Nepal Trekking and Adventure is a locally run trekking and tour company that seeks to provide our customers with the highest service standards at the most competitive rates possible in Nepal. With your safety, comfort and satisfaction as our utmost priority, we know your experience with us will be a memorable one.

Tea House Trekking

In this trek, after the day's hike, the hikers stay the night at a guest-house or a lodge and therefore have access to most modern amenities. They have a comfortable bed to sleep on, a full menu to choose from, and a furnace to warm up during cold nights. They also have ample opportunity to socialize with other trekkers putting up at the guest-house. These trek routes are very popular and therefore they might not necessarily offer you a total respite from human civilization in peak seasons if that is what you want. These treks are relatively easier and cheaper, and incredibly fun too. These type of treks are operated mainly in and around tourist regions like Annapurna, Everest and Langtang.

Camping Trekking

As the name suggests, in this kind of trek the trekkers camp for the night by setting up tents. A support team which includes guides, porters and cooks accompany the trekkers. The support team is responsible for logistics and carrying of the personal effects of the trekkers and other goods (fuel, food, trekking gears etc) while the trekkers carry only light-weight things that they need. These type of treks are operated mainly in "non-tourist" areas where the flow of tourists/trekkers are relatively thin and therefore they offer a complete isolation from the modern world. Camping treks are operated mainly in these areas: Kanchanjunga, Rara Lake, Lower Dolpa, Jugal Himal, Ganesh Himal, Dhaulagiri, Makalu, Rolwaling. However, if the trekkers so wish, this type of trek can be conducted in "tourist" regions too.

Trekking Season

The best seasons to trek in Nepal Himalayas are the spring (February to, May) and autumn (Mid September to mid December). However, trekking is possible during other times of the year too but some areas are more favorable than others are during a certain season. For instance, a trek in sto Tibet is ideal during monsoon, and Mustang and Dolpa are barely affected by this season.
